Trekking the Annapurna

The snow blows in as we cross the ridge to Ghorepani.

Trees along the ridge.

Day 7 - Waiting for a view... We got up at 5:45 am and headed up several hundred feet to the top of Poon Hill (10,530 ft) which held the promise of a panoramic view of the Himalayas. I was excited, because this was the highest altitude i'd even been.

Unfortunately, it was completely overcast and we spent several hours keeping the faith, playing hacki-sack and trying to keep our feet from freezing solid.

But it gave me a chance to take some pretty pictures...
Here's the misty trail leading up to the top of Poon Hill.
